Thanks Lady Rogue for helping to put on an Amazing Event For Chris Guillebeau

I am lucky to have the most wonderful space, which doubles as New Tricks World Headquarters and the Urban Oasis Bed and Breakfast, and we love to share it with people. I was really happy that Chris took me up on my offer to host his Atlanta book tour stop for his Art of Non-Conformity's Unconventional Book Tour last week. I knew it would be great no matter what but the event surpassed all my expectations.

So how did this event even come about? I found Chris on-line and read his blog and bought one of his workbooks. I commented on his blog from time to time and I twittered back to him about things he wrote that I had info on. Later, I found out about Sarah Robinson's course, Creating Irresistible Presence on-line. I knew that it spoke to me. I paid my money and signed up. I met amazing people. Chris even did a presentation for it which he delivered it on a video because he was on his book tour. But he knew that I knew Sarah. I had already offered to host his Atlanta Book signing and then it was a done deal. And then everyone just jumped on board and helped out creating the best event ever. I wrote a detailed post on my blog describing it with photos.

I just love how much social media has expanded my ability to interact with people that might be out of my normal realm of influence. It is astonishing what can happen if you get involved and do more than just lurk in the background. Find the people in your niche who you think are doing great things. Read their blogs, buy their products, Help them out when they need something. That is how it starts. Go to workshops and conferences. They will remember you. When you need them they will help you spread your message.
